After months of hard work, we’re excited to finally share this with you. Whether you’ve stayed with us before or you’re just discovering TopsailAway for the first time, we’ve built this site with one goal in mind: making it easier than ever to plan your perfect Topsail Island vacation.
Who We Are
We’re Andy and Heather, a family who fell in love with Topsail Island back in 2005. What started as beach vacations with our eight kids turned into something more — a dream of putting down roots on this beautiful stretch of North Carolina coast and sharing it with families like yours.
That dream became TopsailAway.
In January 2020, we purchased our first property, The Seahorse, a third-floor beachfront condo in Surf City. We couldn’t resist that view! When the world shut down just a few months later, we did something unexpected — we moved in. Eight of us lived, worked, and did school by day, and renovated by night. We took the condo down to the studs and rebuilt it with intention, creating a space designed for families like ours.
Later that same year, The Dolphin joined our family through a handshake deal with the previous owner, who had become a friend. It’s a first-floor oceanfront condo — perfect for easy beach access and families who prefer fewer stairs.
And now, we’re excited to introduce The Salty Surfer, a classic oceanfront cottage in Topsail Beach that we’re renovating for Summer 2026. With four bedrooms, space for 12 guests, and a dog-friendly policy, it’s the place our growing family always wished we had — and soon, your family can enjoy it too.

The Dolphin — First-floor oceanfront condo in Surf City. Sleeps 6. Easy beach access, Murphy bed, bunk beds the kids love, and zero-entry pool.
The Salty Surfer — Oceanfront cottage in Topsail Beach. Sleeps 12. Dog-friendly, 85″ home theater, newly renovated, and opening Summer 2026.
